Tasha Cannaday

Tasha Cannaday has always possessed a natural aptitude for design, finding inspiration in color, texture, and form from a young age. She showcased her creative flair by designing book covers for school, organizing and decorating community gatherings, and experimenting with various materials.

After finishing her education in Switzerland, Tasha undertook an apprenticeship at an Atelier as an Aud Couture Seamstress, achieving her degree three years later. Her deep interest in artistry and precision subsequently led her into the tattoo industry, where she apprenticed with renowned tattoo artists throughout Europe. She eventually owned and operated two successful tattoo studios in Switzerland for seven years, building a formidable reputation for her skills and innovative vision.

Throughout her life, photography and art have remained unwavering passions for Tasha. Currently, as a devoted photographer, she continues to delve into a broad spectrum of artistic mediums during her leisure time, merging painting, design, and mixed-media techniques. Additionally, she provides commissioned artwork, collaborating closely with clients to manifest their distinct visions.

Now residing in Canada, Tasha has reunited creatively with her mother, Berni Sydow, in their latest artistic venture Wild Heartistry. Together, they persist in crafting art that honors individuality, vibrancy, and the essence of self-expression.

My mission

My mission is to create art that connects emotion, color, and texture in a way that inspires others to see beauty in every form of expression. Through photography, mixed media, and design, I aim to tell stories that celebrate individuality, transformation, and the vibrant details that make life extraordinary.

Each piece I create is an exploration of balance, between structure and spontaneity, realism and imagination, softness and strength. I believe art should not only be seen, but felt, a reflection of both the artist and the observer.

With Wild Heartistry, my goal is to continue exploring new mediums, embrace sustainable and creative practices, and share art that encourages connection, self-discovery, and a deeper appreciation for the world around us.

My vision

My vision is to cultivate a world where art is not confined by boundaries, but flows freely between mediums, cultures, and emotions. I envision Wild Heartistry as a space where creativity and authenticity merge, where each piece tells a story, sparks curiosity, and invites others to reconnect with their own creative spirit.

I aspire to inspire others to embrace art as a way of living, to find beauty in imperfection, meaning in color, and peace in the process of creation. Through collaboration, sustainability, and exploration, I aim to continue evolving as an artist while encouraging others to see that art exists everywhere, waiting to be discovered, shared, and felt.

Gallery

Below, you’ll find a gallery of some of my art pieces. I create art on a variety of surfaces, canvas, paper, plexiglass, wood, and even mannequins, using a mix of mediums to bring each piece to life. My work combines acrylics, ink, watercolor, pen, paper, gold leaf, mother of pearl, stamps, yarn, and anything else I can find to spark creativity. I also explore digital drawing in Procreate, blending traditional and modern techniques to express color, texture, and imagination in every piece.
